Fishmonger

The Fishmonger painter's apron is the answer to the needs and insights identified through interviewing and observing a prominent Savannah, GA painter named Phil. Over 5 weeks, a concept meeting his needs of portability, durability, and cleanliness was developed and paired with materials that bear meaning to him in order to add yet another layer of personalization. The Fishmonger takes name after Phil's post work day state, which he said feels like a fisherman arriving at shore.

The Fishmonger is made of quilted shop rags and heavy duty tarp backed by a layer of Gore-Tex. Elastic is used for the straps and brush loops, and the entire apron is riveted at each point of stress.

Loops along the bottom left allow the user to stow up to 5 brushes in a comfortable, ergonomic manner.

A detachable washboard allows the painter to clean their brushes before stowing them, which helps preserve the quality of a painter's prized instruments.

Cross-back fastening allows the apron to be sized to the wearer's liking, prioritizing comfort and ease of use by combining the neck loop and drawstrings of a traditional apron cut.

When you are all done painting, just fold the sides in and roll the apron up! Buttons at the top secure the bundle and keep it compact for wherever it may be stored.
